Afghanistan
The girl in the picture got her ears and noise cut off for disobeying and trying to get away from it all. This trying to install fear and a feeling of compassion towards the young women who face these challenges everyday. It not targeted towards anyone in particular but just trying to make people aware of what is actually going on over in Afghanistan.
U.S. in Afghanistan
In WWI they used children to persuade people not to pass the Conscription Act. In this picture, they are saying that the children in Afghanistan are needing the soldiers to protect them. Without the soldiers being there and helping get the country stable again, these children's lives would still be at risk every day. This is not saying that it isn't still a dangerous place to be, but it's a lot safer than it was before they arrived. This poster is focusing on the people of America who think we should not be in Afghanistan, but we can't just pull out now. American troops are doing a lot of good and are protecting the people of that country. I used this piece to relate it back to Australian propaganda used in WWI. Australia used children to get to the heart of the people which is exactly what this picture is trying to do. It also shows how over the years propaganda has progressed in many ways like how now you form your own opinion based off of the picture instead of someone telling you what to think.
Elections
This poster is trying to get people to vote for Hillary Clinton for president. It is trying to encourage us by associating Hillary to Lady Liberty. This sends the message that if Hillary gets elected, our freedom and liberties will be upheld. So this poster is meant for people who are the legal age of voting(over 18). This is propaganda because they are trying to persuade viewers to vote for Hillary and what she stands for which is for the freedom of the people.
U.S.
This picture is from the civil war. It was spread across the United States to show people a different perspective of what actually happens to slaves. At first you just think he has some disease or something but those are scars from being whipped. This is trying to install fear into Americans and get them to realize what is actually happen and to stop pretending that everything is all right. Back in WWI and II Australia never showed gruesome picture because they didn't want to scare the people but in the U.S. we spread this picture to install fear. Which shows how different countries act differently with different situations.
